Pictorum Gallery will be hosting an exclusive Curator's Tour and Breakfast event, taking place on Friday 21st April from 11:00am - 12:30pm.
As we approach the final week of our latest exhibition, The Songs of Hecate, this exclusive event is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the works on display, their artistic significance, and the inspiration behind their creation.
Led by our curator and director, Joséphine May Bailey, this exclusive tour will give you an in-depth look at the artworks on display, and provide insights into their symbolism and significance. You'll get to learn about the history of witchcraft, rituals and knowledge-sharing and its place in contemporary art, as well as the techniques and materials used by the artists.
"The Songs of Hecate" is an immersive exhibition that delves into the world of witchcraft and mysticism. Featuring a stunning collection of paintings, sculptures, textile and installation, the exhibition explores the myths and legends surrounding the goddess Hecate and how associations with magic, divination, and the occult have been used to villify and demonise communities of women.
The tour will be accompanies by a delicious breakfast spread including pastries provided by Boxcar Baker, where you'll have the opportunity to mingle with fellow art enthusiasts and share your thoughts on the exhibition.
